Christmas in Leavenworth

| I just LOVE Christmas time! I always have. The lights, the cheery faces everywhere, the snow... YES the snow! Here in Renton we don't tend to see lots of snow this time of year. We may get the occasional flurries or the stuff that sticks around for 24 hours. However, that's usually the extent of it! This year we decided to take a little trip to Leavenworth, Wa. For those of you not familiar with this adorable place, Leavenworth is Washington's Bavarian Village! During the Holiday's, this town just lights up...literally! This past weekend we witnessed the Christmas Lighting Festival where hundreds of people gather around the towns gazebo and greet Saint Nicholas while listening to carolers and breathing in the aroma of roasting chestnuts. Then at dusk...the switch is flipped and the whole town just lights up. It's beautiful! We spent this beautiful weekend with our good friends, Shayne and Misty (who's wedding we shot this past April) and have ton's of pictures to prove our good time! We ate bratwurst, roasted chestnuts (which are actually quite yummy!) and shopped the shops. What a great way to get into the Christmas spirit! It truly was an awesome weekend and it's something we plan on doing again next year!                Labels: About John and Jenna |
