"The Year of Water" My 27th birthday celebration!

Posted at 10:06 AM | 1 comments | please leave a comment
Where do I start? This past week was full of fun and surprises! I turned 27 last Thursday and in celebration of this my wonderful husband made it, yet again, another memorable birthday for me!

I guess I have this thing with water...so John officially made this birthday "The Year of Water". Everything we did had something to do with, the water. ;-)

We started off by checking into a suite at the Silver Cloud Inn, on the Tacoma waterfront (our room had a water view). Once all settled in, we were off to a fabulous dinner at Harbor Lights, where we dinned and enjoyed a view of the Tacoma 'water' front. Although we were celebrating my birthday we took a quick detour to the PUG -Pictage User Group- meeting that was being held at the wonderfully talented MeRa Koh's home. What a delight to meet yet again, more great area photographers. John and I are really enjoying these monthly get together's and can't wait for the next one.

The remainder of the evening was spent relaxing with a glass of wine with my wonderful husband. The following day we were up bright and early and off for breakfast. John had the whole day planned out for us. First stop, Tacoma's Museum of Glass (which has great "water" fountains"). GREAT experience!
Then it was off to Seattle to Ride the Ducks (yup...you guessed it, also goes on the water)! I'd never been on this before and it was really cool! Then it was off and UP to the observation deck of the Space Needle (where we had a view of yes...the water). That's always a great experience!
Last but surely not least, we were headed off for a yummy dinner at Ray's Boat House. John phoned ahead and let them know it was my birthday and they had reserved for us a great corner table with a view of the 'water'. We were also visited by a beautiful bald eagle as we ate our dinner.

Although worn out, it was a great birthday adventure for me. Thank you John for making it happen! I love you more than you know!

Here are a few pictures from my "Year of Water" birthday (taken with our cute little point n' click Canon SD550).

Maria and Rafik's Engagement Ceremony

Yesterday John and I attended a traditional Orthodox Coptic Engagement Ceremony (a first for us both). We were just thrilled to take part in their engagement.
A full on ceremony at St. Georges in Kirkland and reception to follow at Salty's on Alki for bride and groom to be, Maria and Rafik is just the beginning of what is to come for this great couple! They will be married this October in Washington D.C. and will have well over 300 guests. No doubt this will be an event of a lifetime!

Prior to yesterday, John and I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting Maria or Rafik. Not only were the two of them amazing, they also had friends and family to match. Congratulations again to you Rafik and Maria! We had a great time and are grateful to have been part of your day.

Shayne and Misty's Wedding

Today Jenna and I had the privilege of shooting Shayne and Misty's wedding! We are continually amazed and blessed how at the end of the day we feel like we've made new friends.

Two words... Great Weather! Everyone packed umbrellas but the day was amazing, the wedding party headed to Gene Coulon Park to take pictures, then St. Mathews Church in Renton for the ceremony.

The reception followed at Renton Technical College. Misty and Shayne are now off to Jamaica for a relaxing and well deserved honeymoon. Congratulations to you Shayne and Misty! Thanks you for allowing us into your lives.

A few pictures from their beautiful day...

An amazing doo!

Associate and close friend Sarah Carper has been styling hair for the past 8 years and is in my opinion absolutely amazing! In fact Sarah did styled my hair for my own wedding.
She's great because she is completely mobile which means she comes to you-hence her name 'I Do Come 2 U'! Not only is a practice run for her brides included, Sarah also shows up to your home, church or venue you are getting ready at and sticks around for touch-ups so that during your photographs and entire event your hair remains flawless.

If you are looking for a GREAT look on your wedding day call or email Sarah Carper at 253.344.9835 or ido_come2you@yahoo.com for prices and availability.

Hi John and Jenna,
Just wanted to let you know that we DID receive the DVD and image catalog of our pictures. You also included a nice thank you note, but it is WE who should be thanking YOU! The photos are absolutely beautiful and turned out exactly as we were hoping!! We are so incredibly happy and amazed at your work. You truly have a gift for photography! The colors are so vibrant, the images are so clear and you managed to capture SO MUCH emotion, detail and such amazing candid shots! We have gotten so many compliments from friends who have looked at our event online, some who only wish their own wedding photos had turned out so well! We would truly recommend you both to anyone!! Thank you again so much for being a part of our special day, and being the ones who allow us to remember that special day so well!
Now we're eager to see how the finished album comes out, as we love the individual photos!

Thanks so much, and have a wonderful week!

Bernadette and Joel Moore
