So Much To Be Thankful For

Posted at 10:03 PM | 0 comments |
This is the second holiday season that John and I have spent together as husband and wife. For so many couples, the Holidays can be stressful and full of decision makings. We're both so blessed to have such awesome families! My family has been more than great when it comes to sharing me with my husband and new family, and John's family has been more than gracious to share him with me and my family.

This year for Thanksgiving it worked out that we could blend our families for Thanksgiving... and blend we did! After our Halloween party we knew that we could accommodate a decent number of people in our home. After the final head count was in... it was 29 members of the Karwoski, Gregorio, Covey, Saitta, Maes, Smith and Schaefer family who shared many laughs and smiles, not to mention 2 very large brined and BBQ'd birds this Thanksgiving.

John began 2 day's prior to Thanksgiving, preparing his famous brined birds. One was just over 21 pounds and the other 22 pounds! And me... well I spent days and days getting ready to host this lovely feast for our one of a kind, awesome family. John's parents, John and Maralee and brother Joe traveled all the way from Spokane to be with us and my cousin Kimberly, new hubby Chad and Aunt Shelly drove out from the Tri-Cities. The rest of our families amazingly live relatively close by and no matter how small or long their trips to get here... we are so thankful for everyone who could make it!

Now John was insistent on making sure that we had a "sit-down-dinner". Remember... there were 29 of us! Just a few days before "T" Day, we decided to rent a few extra tables and lots of chairs to accommodate this sit down dinner for so many. The day and evening could not have been better! I'm still not entirely sure how we pulled it off (yes I do, I worked really hard, my husband is amazing and our families... ROCK!) but it sure turned out to be my personal favorite Thanksgiving ever!!!

Thank you to all of our family for giving us such a memorable Thanksgiving! Our lives are truly rich because of you! All our love through the Holidays and always!

Jenna and John

Lifestyle Photography

Ever tried getting your little one all dressed up and then rushing them off to the toy or department store portrait studio, just to get 15 minutes of time in front of the camera? Most of the time you're lucky to walk away with a small hand full of shots of your child "posed" in front of a back drop. Sometimes it's even worse... and don't end up with any, wishing you could get back the morning or afternoon that was just wasted. It's unfortunate, but all to common.

Time... it's a very precious commodity and it always seems to go by so fast. If you have a baby or small child time becomes even more precious! Lifestyle Photography is something that is becoming more and more common with parents and families. The days where you put your child on a bench in front of a 'less than personal backdrop' and then have someone telling your child to say "cheese", are in my opinion, numbered.

Just imagine having a collage of pictures from your child's first weeks and then through their first years, that show exactly who they were, what they were doing and the development of their ever growing personalities. Photography is so much more than just being able to take a good picture. It's about being able to relate, to bond and to connect with not just your clients... but with people whom have come to trust you with their family and children.

The best way for this to happen is to trust who is taking pictures of your family, and let them get to know you. Children are smart... and they tend to be at there cutest (being themselves) when they are comfortable and in their own surroundings. Not having their schedule (or lack there of) disturbed gives all involved, the upper hand.

My goal is to talk with my parents, finding out as much as I can about their children; their likes, dislikes and their personalities, favorite past times and even their daily schedule. I think that being able to take a peek into their lives, I'll be able to produce not only a much more personalized product, but also be able to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the process.

If you would like to schedule your portrait session, please feel free to email me to make an appointment. I will only be doing a limited number of portrait sessions over the next few months leading up to our busy wedding season of 2008! :-)

Time For Portraits

Doing portraits is something that I've had an interest in doing myself for quite some time now. During wedding season, however, it is nearly impossible for me to really get into it. As some of you may know, I've been working on getting my portrait portfolio up to date and John and I are working on getting our Perfect Image Productions website updated with all of my portraits.

John is has been working SO hard on all of the post wedding productions from our extremely busy wedding season this Summer and so we haven't had a chance to totally reconstruct our site. I am totally determined to jump right into doing more portrait sessions and I think that this is something that I will only be able to do during the few months of our off season from weddings. I've had a few new clients this Fall and would love to book some more for the coming months.

I thought it would be cool to really get myself going more in the portrait direction by offering a super deal to anyone who books me for a portrait session with in the next month or two. Now my passion in portrait photography really lies with the children, and babies (this includes maternity too!). My style isn't to just take forced pictures... but instead more natural and less "cheesy" photos. All of my sessions are done on site, which means I will either come to your home or even to your favorite park and dedicate not just 15 minutes (like you would get at the department store studio's) but a good portion of my day to ensure that there are many great pictures where you or your child are in their own surroundings and feels most comfortable.

My portrait sessions are just $50 for the sitting fee and is a flat fee. No extra costs for multiple children or family members and that includes not only my travel and time with you that afternoon, but it also includes unlimited number of digital photo's taken during our session. I'll choose the best of the best from all of your photo's (can be anywhere from 20-60 images) and I will hand edit each one of your pictures and within a couple of weeks, post them all on Pictage for you to share, proof and order any individual "studio" prints you like and the pictures stay up on Pictage for at least 3 months so that you can order at your own pace. And if you like all of the images (trust me... it's tough not too love these unique pictures your little ones) you can purchase all of the edited pictures on a high resolution CD for you to print at your leisure. It's so much more affordable than even getting in on a good deal at the department stores...because you can OWN (ownership is limited) each and everyone of your pictures.

You can check out some of my work on our blog and if you would like to talk more about scheduling an appointment (my schedule is very flexible and can do weekday afternoons) please feel free to email me at jenna@perfectimageproductions.com. And don't forget to keep checking out our Blog for all our recent weddings and portrait sessions!

Baby Reese 1/2 a Year Birthday Portraits

Baby Reese turned 6 months old November 2nd and Mommy Megan, wanted to celebrate this milestone with some pictures!

I went over to their home and spent a couple of hours with Megan and little Reese. What a delight to be around such a great baby! Reese was full of smiles...the entire time I was there! Well the last few minutes she was ready for a nap...but Reese gave me well over 2 hours of nothing but smiles and coo's! Now there's a natural! :-)

I had a great time and I think the pictures turned out beautifully!!! Happy 1/2 Birthday Reese!

Ben & Jen's wedding November 3, 2007

John and I first met up with Benjamin and Jen a year ago at one of Seattle's funkiest coffee & wine bars Motore Coffee. We must have sat for hours chatting about their upcoming wedding.

This past Saturday...the day they had been waiting for, was finally upon them! Jen and Benjamin were married in Seattle at the Mt. Baker Park Presbyterian Church. A traditional Lutheran ceremony (yes, in a Presbyterian church lol) was performed by a close friend of the couples, whom delivered an amazing ceremony!

After the ceremony and a few pictures in the park, the bridal party was off (on foot, since the reception was being held just a few blocs away) to their reception at the Mount Baker Community Club. Cute cupcake towers took their place as the centerpiece of each table (which were to die for!) and the room twinkled with candle light.

Everyone had such a wonderful time... including John and I. Congratulations to you Benjamin and Jen on your wedding! We wish you both all the best in the world! Thanks for sharing your very special day with us.
