Project Nursery | Mission Compete!!!

I (Jenna) couldn't be happier to have our little girls nursery all finished! John and I have been working so hard since Friday night. The prep work took many hours... the painting was a whole days adventure and the chair railing and wood stripes between the colors was one back breaking adventure!

I always dreamed of creating a beautiful nursery for my baby, but this... this is more than I ever expected. John and I worked so hard and to have it finally finished is such a relief! Now... we wait for the baby shower and once we have all of her bedding and decorations, we can complete our little princess' room. Oh yes, there will be more pictures to come but for now... here is the completed nursery!

I just have to thank my wonderful husband for putting so much into project nursery! I couldn't have done it with out him. In fact, if I had it to do by myself, the room would have been one color and the paint job would have been "eh" at best! :0) Thanks John for making our daughters room perfect! I love you and can't wait to start this new chapter of our life. There isn't another soul on the planet I could imagine loving this much, working with, having a family with and just living each day with. You are more than just the man I married, you are my best friend!

Project Nursery | Day 3

Wow am I excited, mostly because the major back breaking work is done!

With all the painting completed, we started on the chair railing and slats. The White slats really made the colors stand out... we love it.

Late Saturday night I installed a little chandelier; it rains down some pretty light with nice shadows all over the room.

Here's a couple more pics, now all that remains is some caulking and then putting everything back in place!

Project Nursery | Day 1 & 2

Work on our daughters nursery is under way :-)

Some time back Jenna and I picked colors and mapped out a design... I mocked it up in Photoshop and printed it out (yes I know I'm a geek). We blocked out this weekend for all the work and got started Friday evening to get a head start.

Lots of colors required lots of taping, but I did get to use this sweet rotating laser level.

Next comes the paint, then more paint, then more paint... you get the idea.

Next we start on Chair Railing and other goodies... more pics to come. The dog says bye :-)

Mina | Irish Step Dancing

Last weekend Jenna and I had a chance to shuttle my youngest daughter Mina around to several performances. This is her second year Irish Step Dancing and its soo much fun watching her dance, while dancing she's all smiles from ear to ear!

If I remember correctly they had 14 performances scheduled in the couple days leading up to Saint Patricks Day.. whew, I'm tired just thinking about it.

Here are a couple shots from Saturday.

Amazing Nurseries | Show Me Yours- Contest!

I'm getting ready to enter my 3rd trimester (can you believe it?!?!) and it's about that time to start decorating our little girls nursery! I think we have the colors and the design picked out. We're thinking of using 3 different shades of pink and breaking it up with a fun lime green!

So far what we've come up with is to put white chair railing up about 3 feet up the wall. Painting wide stripes on the lower half using 2 of the darker shades of pink and the lime green. Then painting the top half of the wall solid with the light pink. The furniture in Baby Girl Karwoski's room is going to be white so I think those colors on the wall will really pop! :)

While coming up with all of these ideas on how we are going to decorate our daughters room, it got me thinking "I wonder what creative things other people are doing to decorate their babies nurseries?". What better way to find out then to ask YOU to show me what you've done in your little girls or little boys nursery!

Show me what you've done in your little ones nursery by emailing me a photo to me at jenna@jfkweddings.com. I will go through all of the pictures and the winner of my favorite nursery will get a complimentary portrait session of their little one in their new room! I will pick a winner by March 31st so get in your pictures for a chance to have your little one and his or her personalized nursery captured for memories that will last forever!

**Please include in your email, your name, city in which you reside and your childs age or your due date. Winner of the nursery contest will receive up to 2 hours of shooting at their home and a CD of their edited images. A value of over $350! Winner must live within the greater Seattle area. Portrait session prize must be redeemed by 12/31/09.
