| We met Josh & Nichole just a few short weeks ago and will be shooting their wedding coming up in May! Getting down to business we scheduled and shot their engagement session this past weekend. Josh works at Korum Ford in Puyallup (where cars cost less! lol) and so we had the privilege to use the shop since it is closed on Sunday's. Cool cars, power tools, cars up on lifts... you name it, we had it, and shooting there was awesome! Josh and Nichole are such a down to earth, not to mention hilarious couple! This was the first time either of had had professional pictures and were a little nervous at the beginning of their session. It didn't take them but a split second before the seemed right at home in front of the camera. If they were nervous, I couldn't tell! They were laughing and flirting with one another all while John snapped away! The energy these two have between one another sure makes them a blast to be around! John & I had a great time and I even stepped in for a quick photo with Nichole. :) We can't wait for their wedding, just a month a way! Thanks guys for an awesome afternoon! See you in a few weeks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

| This time of year we aren't swamped with weddings but we do tend to have a few engagement sessions that keep us busy. Kiley & Cody were engaged over the holiday's and were very excited to jump into their engagement session. We chose Heritage Park in Kirkland because they wanted to bring their little pooch, Fidget. It's great to have clients who are easy going and fun to work with, as Kiley & Cody were, but Fidget did great as well! We had so much fun with these guys shooting their engagement session and are very much looking forward to shooting their wedding this September! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

| Rob & Esther flew in from Virginia to spend a little time with family and friends! We were thrilled to finally meet & spend time with these two during their short visit. Rob & Esther are getting married here in Seattle next July, but planning this special event all the way from Virginia, they sought out the help of the wonderfully talented and uber awesome, Wendi Hroncich of Ethereal Events. Yet again, we escaped what was supposed to be a normal drizzly day in Seattle. The sun was out and the temperatures were mild. I know we can't exactly bank on good weather all the time but we seem so often to be blessed with awesome weather for our planned outdoor engagement sessions & weddings. I think we've only had to reschedule one Esession due to rain... EVER! One of the things I loved right away, before even meeting these guys, was that rain or shine they were going to do their shoot as planned. Laid back and fun are just two of the golden qualities of this pair. We had a great time at the Seattle Center with these two and can't wait for their wedding! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you would like to view more of their engagement pictures as they become available, please click here to sign their guest book. | John & Jennifer are getting married this May at the Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton. We met up with these two a few weekends ago in Seattle for their engagement pictures. We walked all around Pioneer Square, where the two met a few years back. Loving Seattle we went to Pikes Place & Sculpture Park. Here are a few from their engagement session. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

| Come and check out Joe & Stacy. Getting married in early 2010, this couple is doing the long distance thing at the moment. Joe is finishing up school here while fiance' Stacy steps into the world of law... working for the time being, in Boise ID. Back to Washington for a much needed visit (not to mention to celebrate her birthday) we met up with these two at the UW campus to shoot their engagement session. How lucky were we to, yet again, get awesome weather! Take a look for yourself at what an adorable couple these two are. John and I had a blast and spent a record setting 4(ish) hours with the love birds. It's usually our couples that are done after shooting for an hour or two, but not Stacy & Joe. Being UW alumni showed us all around the area taking us to places we hadn't shot before. John and I had a blast and felt so lucky to spend so much time getting to know these two. We are looking forward to your 2010 wedding and hope to see you sometime in between! A few of our fav's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

| We met Eric & Jessica earlier this Summer. Referred to us by their good friends John & Suzanne who were married this past July. We just LOVE our referrals! :) The destination for their engagement session was Heritage Park in Kirkland. Partially because it's a pooch friendly park and Danny, their adorable pooch, wanted to be part of the fun! :) Plus, the park it's self is just beautiful. We started our e-session a little later in the afternoon and because of that we were rewarded with an awesome sunset and the sweetest lighting! Eric & Jessica were just phenomenal to work with. Not only are they a beautiful couple but they are so comfortable with one another and after a few minutes I'd like to think they were comfortable with us too. If not, they sure knew how to fake it. :) We had such a great time and now we're just that much more excited for their wedding next April! As always here are a few of our favorites from their session. | We absolutely love going to new places for esessions and we got to do just that with Kelsey & Lewis. We met this lovely couple down in Bellevue and took a short drive down to Clyde Beach Park. After a few fun shots there, we were off to Maydenbauer Park. None of us had ever been to this cute little tucked away park, but we just loved it. The boats and sunset in the background were the perfect setting for this fun loving and energetic couple. Finally, one last stop to Bellevue's Downtown Park for some final sun setting pictures. John and I had a great time getting to know these guys and aside of the fact that it was like hanging out with long time friends, we got to learn some fun facts about these two over almost a 3 hour period! It was a blast. We ended the evening at the Cheesecake Factory... we walked up quite an appetite so the 4 of us relaxed over a piece of yummy cheesecake. :) Here are some of our favorites from their Esession. Lewis & Kelsey, John and I are very much looking forward to your September wedding! Thanks for the great time and for letting us take a part in such a wonderful time in your lives. | The lovely Elisa is to be married on August 8th, 2008. Yup, 8/8/08! :) She had her first dress fitting a few days ago and I tagged along to get a little sneak peek of her beautiful wedding gown. Joining Elisa was her beautiful mother, Jenifer, and bridesmaids Jessica & Angela who were also looking for their dresses. Of course I'm not going to show any pictures of Elisa in her dress (that would be a total buzz kill for groom Hunter if he saw those lol) but here are a few appropriate pictures from that morning. :) So many choices for the maids! ![]() ![]() ![]() Look at all of those dresses the maids tried on... ![]() ![]() Someone likes to shop. :) ![]() Can you say BLING!!! ![]() I had a great time hanging out with all of you lovely ladies! | We first met this awesome couple last year through one of our couples Jamie and Ryan who were married last July. Suzanne and John are getting married this July at the Hotel Bellweather in Bellingham Wa. John and I have been looking forward to shooting this location for a very long time! You know what could make our first experience at this location even better??? Having an awesome and lively couple like John and Suzanne, that's what! We just shot their engagement pictures on Sunday... the nicest day of the weekend I might ad, at the University of Washington Campus. They both graduated from UW where John played football and Suzanne played soccer so they both have attachments and fondness for their school. Because John and I had just shot another engagement shoot here the Friday prior, we made sure to keep things fun and fresh for these two. Campus is an amazing place to come if you want to just hang out and it's even better for pictures. Here are just a few (Oh there are so many more) of our favorites from their engagement session. I just love how these two interact with one another... so natural and so obvious that they so in love. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks John and Suzanne for an awesome afternoon! | Steve and Kate are getting married this August here in Seattle. Both currently live in Philadelphia but have family here... not to mention they both graduated from The University of Washington. It was only natural for them to want their engagement pictures done right here on campus. We were seriously playing it by ear up until the very last minute because it was supposed to rain on Friday. We decided to just go for it since it had yet to rain. Once again, John and Jenna Karwoski avoid cancellation due to the typical Seattle weather. YES! :) We walked all around the UW campus finding some awesome places to shoot. Here are a few of our favorites. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks so much Kate and Steve for hanging out with us Friday! It was so great to finally meet and get to know you both a bit more! John and I are looking forward to not just your wedding but getting to hang with you awesome people again! :) Labels: Engagements |

We spent a Saturday afternoon hanging out with Jenny & Logan in beautiful downtown Seattle. With just 3 months to go until their wedding it was great to get toghether for their engagement pictures. What an awesome day it was for pictures... let me tell ya! :) Jenny & Logan wanted to incorporate the city into their pictures, so we headed down to Pike Place Market. It was awesome... there were vendors pouring out onto the sidewalks and the entertainment was, well... entertaining! We had a selection of musicians and even a clown who made a heart with two lovebirds just for our two lovebirds. :) Graced with blue skies over Seattle we headed over to Alki to take in some more of the great weather and awesome views of the city.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few day's after their engagement session we received a call from Jenny, they had wanted to take some pictures with them both wearing a very special piece of clothing. Logan's mother Darlene, lost her 10 1/2 year battle against breast cancer on February 2nd 2008. Darlene is survived by Husband Philip, Son's Logan, Phillip & Erik, a very soon to be daughter-in-law Jenny, Daughter Mariah, as well as 6 grandchildren. Darlene's determination, courage and strength during such a time is personally just so encouraging and uplifting. Logan's sister Mariah had some really great looking North Face jackets embroidered for the family to show their support in the fight against breast cancer. Sunday afternoon Jenny & Logan brought the family by for a few more pictures... all of them wearing their awesome jackets! It worked out great because John and I had the opportunity not only to meet some of the family but get some great family shots as well. ![]() ![]() If you would like to learn more on how you can support or join in the fight against breast cancer, please visit http://www.the3day.org/. | Kyle Proposed to Shari at Hamilton Park overlooking Seattle and Alki Beach. What an awesome spot to begin their engagement pictures...in the very spot where they first became engaged! Doing outdoor engagement sessions this time of year can be tricky because you just can't count on the weather to cooperate. However, Sunday was the only day in the forecast not scheduled to rain. Not only was it dry, but it was clear and sunny! The view from Hamilton Park was absolutely beautiful. After a few shots at this romantic look out, we headed down to Alki Beach for a few more shots. If you live in Seattle you know that one nice day, everyone flocks to be outside. Alki was screaming with people, soaking in as much of the sun as possible... we were no exception. Shari & Kyle are getting married this April. Here are a few pictures from their engagement session. ![]() ![]() ![]() Middle Image RightImage ![]() ![]() Right Image Labels: Engagements |

| Just in... Silvy and Ronald arrived earlier this week from California to exchange vows in front of their friends and family, this Sunday at the New Castle Golf Course. Still wanting engagement pictures, John and I spent this afternoon with the soon-to-be married couple in the heart of Downtown Seattle. The weather forecast has been predicting rain for today, but yet again, we ended up with an amazingly dry, not to cold, slightly sunny day! We were sure to take every advantage of this beautiful December day and so decided to head downtown to get some photo's at some of Seattle's well known locations. What a sport they were to pose underneath the Seattle Center's fountain... in December even! We were luck y to escape with out any major casualties. Ronald got a little wet, but for these shots... it was worth it. At least that's what I told him ;-). We then decided to head down to Pike Place Market to give these two Californians a chance to do some site seeing. Well that, and to take more picture of course! John and I had an awesome afternoon with these two and we can't wait for this weekend to shoot their wedding!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Right Image ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

| We shared this past Sunday afternoon with Eric & Callie, whom are to be married at Yangs Botanical Gardens in Port Orchard next Summer. Downtown Tacoma was the plan so we started off at The Gardens @ Point Defiance Park and ended up at Jack Hyde Park on Commencement Bay on Ruston Way (also in Tacoma) to shoot their engagement pictures. We got some really awesome shots and had a blast doing it! It was a perfect Pacific Northwest Fall day, I don't think anyone could have asked for a better day (especially in November) for an outdoor engagement session! Eric and Callie are just an awesome couple and we're really looking forward to working with them again next July. Congratulations Eric & Callie on your engagement. | I just LOVE the fall here in Seattle! It doesn't seem to matter that I've lived here my entire life, each season, especially Fall always seems to take my breath away. The cool and crisp weather, the changing colors of the leaves and I just love how the leaves create a blanket like layer upon the grass. We were so excited to spend Saturday afternoon with Lucas and Amy (whom are to be married June of next year) at Seattle's, Gas Works Park. The day started off a bit hazy but you could just tell that the sun was going to burn all of that away. Sure enough it did, exposing us to the warm sun and strikingly blue skies. Amy and Lucas were just excited that it had decided not to rain. :) We walked around the park for a couple of hours playing & posing with the rusty old machines. I just love this park, the rolling hills, great views and the amazing machines that were once used to manufacture gas from coal. Here are some pictures from their shoot. We can hardly wait to shoot their wedding next Summer! ![]() Right Image ![]() ![]() ![]() Middle Image Right Image ![]() Right Image ![]() ![]() ![]() Right Image ![]() Labels: Engagements |
Engagement Photography

| There has been a growing trend of proposal photography lately and to be honest, I find it extremely romantic! There has been many stories recently on the different types of photographed proposals weather it's a stealthy photographer who follows the potential bride and groom around the park posing as a tourist or an elaborately planned out proposal with all the bells and whistles. One story that was captured by Atlanta photographer, Ross Oscar Knight, was one of a kind and about as planned as they come. You can see find the story and slideshow on his Blog. Trust me, it's worth reading the story and watching the slideshow it seriously gave me the chills (good ones). Back here in our neck of the woods, Seattle Photographer, Jeff LaPlante actually met up with Komo News Radio reporter, Jon Repp last week to give his views on photojournalism as well as the growing trend of proposal photography. Jeff captured a proposal this past September. You can read and see more about his proposal session on Jeff's Blog. John and I became involved in wedding photography because after shooting a friends wedding we just fell in love with the images and were amazed at the emotion and the story that an image could capture. What can I say? We are passionate for passion!!! :-) What an amazing feeling it must be to capture the couples story starting with the proposal and following them to their big day. Just Amazing... To discuss more about a personalized proposal shoot just shoot us an email or give us a call! We would love to capture your entire story! Labels: Engagements |

| John and I met Hunter and Elisa through friend's Ben and Gretchen Levy, who's wedding we did just weeks earlier. They're getting married early next Summer and we were thrilled to get to spend some time with them both during their engagement session at Cedar River in Renton, Wa. Turns out we found that we had much in common with the bride and groom to be. Hunter and Elisa both enjoy the simplicity and luxury of the outdoors, camping, hiking and anything having to do with being out side. We also seem to have a similar taste in good food and wine... so it was no surprise that we had a great time with each other. We may also have had a hand in a possible future purchase for the two. John let Hunter test drive our new car and... I think there may be a new Acura TL Type S in the near future for these two! :-) Not being 100% comfortable in front of a camera, Hunter was a great sport and they just both looked amazing... Undeniably in love! John and I are very excited to shoot their upcoming wedding and are looking forward to an upcoming date night with the two! Thanks guys for spending the afternoon with us... can't wait for more good times! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements |

John and I had SO much fun with Ryan and Jamie at Seattle's, Golden Gardens park. Now here's a couple that knows how to have a good time! Even after hearing they both have a tendency to be shy at times... I wouldn't have ever guessed because both Ryan and Jamie couldn't stop smiling and laughing, mostly at each other! Jamie is a school teacher using her summer off to finsh her wedding details, and Ryan's a volunteer Firefighter for the City of Issaquah and they were a photographers dream couple! The love and respect that these two have for each other was quite apparent. On top of everything else, the weather was just perfect, warm, but not to hot & just enough cloud cover to make it a perfect day to take pictures! Ryan and Jamie are getting married in just a few short weeks and we can't wait to work with them again! Caroline, who graduated from Washington State University took the opportunity to ask a few of her Delta Gamma sisters (Lisa, Tiffany & Danielle) to be part of her wedding party. Sorority AND biological sister Katie, will be Caroline's maid of honor. Stewart and Caroline are to be married next Summer in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Thanks Caroline and Stewart for sharing your day with us! You guys are so much fun to work with! Your family/friends are amazing and it is so clear just how much they love you guys! | Yesterday John and I attended a traditional Orthodox Coptic Engagement Ceremony (a first for us both). We were just thrilled to take part in their engagement. A full on ceremony at St. Georges in Kirkland and reception to follow at Salty's on Alki for bride and groom to be, Maria and Rafik is just the beginning of what is to come for this great couple! They will be married this October in Washington D.C. and will have well over 300 guests. No doubt this will be an event of a lifetime! Prior to yesterday, John and I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting Maria or Rafik. Not only were the two of them amazing, they also had friends and family to match.
