Taylor | 9 Months

What a joy it has been to watch this little one grow up. The Levy's are dear friends to our family and we've had the privilege to watch Taylor go from this tiny little girl to this beautiful 9 month old, who's now crawling around and pulling herself up on just about everything.

I had such a great time yesterday with Gretchen & Taylor and my little Ellie was SOOO good. She just slept in Taylor's swing allowing me to capture all of these great images.

Happy 2nd Birthday Reese!

Posted at 6:27 PM | 1 comments | please leave a comment
It'd been a whole year since I last saw this little angle. Reese Turned 2 this weekend and it was time for her 2 year pictures! I've had the privilege of capturing some of her most precious milestones, 6 months, 1 year and now, her at the 2 year mark. It's been so great watching her grow over the past year and a half and I am very much looking forward to continue to capture this little one through out her childhood. I love the age of 2. The great amount of growth that happens between 1 and 2 is just so fun to see. Last year she still needed mommy's assistance with the little things such as walking or climbing the stairs and this year, Reese was much more self efficient and it was so cute holding a conversation with her.

Back at her house, we headed out to the back yard and while mommy & I chatted and caught up a little, Reese just played around us entertaining herself, but mostly us. :) It was a beautiful day outside and they have this gorgeous wooded area out back so we took a little walk. Reese posed a little for me and then it was off to change outfits... and activities. You see, her attention span, like that of most 2 year olds, was about the size of my pinky. To keep her occupied, we had to change up activities every so often. :)

Refreshed and ready for some more action she pulled then posed in her little red wagon. I got a few more shots of her and Mommy before she called it quits. I have to say, Reese did an amazing job for me all afternoon. I knew my time was up because well, Reese told me so! :) If you know toddlers, they have a very specific way of letting you know they've given you all they are willing to give. For Reese, it was burying her head in mommy's shoulders when I tried to snap any more pictures. It was very cute.

I had more than enough time and opportunity to snap away to my hearts content and as you can see, I wasn't left with nothing. Here are just a few of the 70+ keepers. I don't know about you, but these eyes and this smile still, just melts my heart!

I am pleased to introduce to you for the first time, Taylor Victoria. Taylor was born in late October and I just couldn't wait to meet this little one. Mommy Gretchen and Daddy Ben have been good friends of ours for a few years now. We photographed their wedding back in July of 2007. It is such a joy to watch them as new parents. Taylor is just adorable and holding her is such a treat! See for yourself just how cute this little princess is...

Meet the Miller's

Posted at 1:02 PM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
I'd like to introduce you to the Miller family. Erik, Mariah, Montana & Safronia. Now be careful, these two little girls may just melt your hearts... as if they weren't cute enought, mom informed me that they'd be all dressed up in their tutus from Bee Bops & Lollipops. They also had adorable matching turquoise Converse. SO cute!

Of course we had to get some pictures of the whole family...

And after an outfit change the sun was setting beautifully...

Once we were all finished with all of the family pictures we headed back to their house for one more set of. These however, different from what we'd usually do, were for Mariah & her sister in law Jenny (who's wedding we shot earlier this year) who have just started thier own unique candle business. You can check out these beautiful, no-flame candles on their site Twilightluminary.com

Welcome baby Alana

Posted at 12:14 PM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
Alana was born on September 28th at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA. You might remember her mama Devinne from her maternity session just a couple of weeks earlier.

I was very privileged to capture Devinne's labor and of course the precious moments of Alana's arrival into this world. Here are a few from Alana's birthday.

Just 5 day's old I visited Mama, Alana, big brother Dylan and Daddy at their home for her newborn pictures. Just a few of my favorites.

Congratulations Devinne & Mike for bringing such a beautiful little angel into this world. I am still so thrilled at the privilege to have captured these precious moments for your family.

Meet Ben | Class of 2009

I can tell that the deadline to get senior pictures into the yearbook staff, is quickly approaching! Senior sessions are starting to fill up my calendar and I can't wait for the next.

Meet Ben. He's a pretty typical guy when it comes to his excitement (or lack their of) of having his pictures taken. :) While most girls can't wait to spend hours preparing and taking their senior pictures, I understand that it's not always a guy's favorite past time. So, we headed down to Downtown Renton and spent just about an hour (not too painful right) taking pictures. Spending just enough time on those that all parents want, schools need, and then of course some fun ones just for him.

Thanks Ben for hanging out with me and for being such a good sport!

Email me to book your senior session just in time for the yearbook deadline.

Devinne and I had her maternity session scheduled for next week which was appropriate since her due date is October 25th. I received a call from Devinne last Friday saying Alana may be here before our scheduled maternity session and could we do it sooner! :) So last Saturday morning Devinne had her maternity session and now she is scheduled for an induction this weekend. I have been honored with the opportunity to capture the labor and delivery of this little one and I couldn't be more excited. Stay tuned next week for some of Alana's very first pictures.

For now... please enjoy some of her belly pictures.

I have been anxiously awaiting to meet this little princess since I found out her Mama was pregnant! I did Jessica's maternity pictures back in April while she was home for a visit. Her and hubby Merele, currently live in New Mexico and while he is away at training, Mommy decided to come home for a visit and of course I was thrilled because I got to meet and capture Arielle at the delicate age of just 8 weeks. I am officially in love with this little cutie pie! :)

Here are a few of my favorites.

Happy 1st Birthday Dylan!!

Posted at 9:22 AM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
Turning one means exploring anything and everything. It means "I wonder what that (rock) tastes like". It means being fearless and not having a care in the world. And most of all, it means having the energy of a... well a one year old! :)

Dylan, besides being absolutely precious, was so busy and ready to explore everything. He spent quite a bit of time playing with the garden hose (could we possibly have a future fire fighter on our hands?) and there was no keeping him from playing in any puddle he could find. At first I wasn't too sure that this little guy was going to let me take any pictures of his face... he was all over the place his curiosity taking him this way and that... well as you can see I DID get some great shots and I had a fabulous time.

"One day..."

Here comes the next Mozart?!?

Mommy and Daddy are expecting a little girl come October which means Dylan is going to be a big brother!

The beautiful Elisa was married this past Friday and while her family was in town for the wedding, she thought it would be a great idea to get some family pictures done. Joining Elisa was her brand new husband Hunter, her parents, Jenifer and Grant and all the way from Utah, her brother Nic, and sister in law Haley. Oh and who could forget here little neice Makinzie!?! What a precious and adorable child. She was full of smiles and made the cutest little sounds. She kept making this squawking noise (like a bird) that I couldn't help but grin at time after time. Taken just one day before her wedding here are some of my favorites of the family!

Drew who's 7 and Tyler who's 4, had me cracking up with their silly little personalities while little Paityn, just 6 months old melted my heart with her big blue eyes and bright smiles.

Here are a few of my favorites from Sunday.

Thanks guys for having me over. What a truly beautiful family you are and I had such a great time getting to know you all.

Fort Worden, Port Townsend | TTD Sessions

Posted at 10:45 AM | 2 comments | please leave a comment
It's no surprise that Memorial weekend is typically a busy weekend for many. John and I were no exception. On that Sunday, we, along with many fellow photogs, made the drive up to Port Townsend where we met up with some models for a shoot that would take us into the early evening.

The entire shoot took place at Fort Worden, State Park. Originally built in the late 1800's, it was designed to prevent a hostile fleet from reaching NW targets such as Bremerton Naval Yard and the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Everett. The fort was closed in 1953 and reopened in 1955 as a State Park. Another fun little fact about this amazing place, the 1980's movie, An Officer and a Gentleman was filmed here. :)

Okay, onto some pictures... here are some of our favorite pictures from the day. Did I mention what awesome models we had?!?! :) We hiked up and down and all around this place seeking out the amazing bunkers and other awesome places to shoot. I just love to take hold of opportunities like this, getting together with other local photographers and just shooting for an entire day with models who are up and ready for anything!

Here's a couple of Johns pictures from the day;

A big thanks to Sheila Birask, of Model Mayhem provided hair and make up for most of our models and flowers which were donate by Laurel Mitchell, owner of Laurel's Floral and Decor in Snohomish, Wa.

Thanks Steve Smith for putting this whole thing together and thanks to all of our models for being, well... AWESOME! :)

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY REESE!

Perhaps you remember about 6 months ago I took 6 month pictures of this adorable little princess?? Well, she's back! Reese turned 1 on Friday May 2nd and Mommy Megan asked if I would come and capture the milestone of her daughters first birthday. Of Course I was dying to get some more shots of this beautiful little girl!!!

Reese is just a few crawls away from walking. She is full of energy and those smiles are sure to melt even the coldest of hearts! Take a look for yourself!

All of these pictures were taken at Megan's home... what an awesome backyard I had to work with! Reese is sure to get plenty of use of her nice, big backyard once she gets those footsies a moving!

Sara's Senior Portraits | Gene Coulon Beach

I can't tell you just how excited I was to shoot Sarah's senior pictures! Sarah was one of the 15 members to go on the Mission to Mexico trip we took in March. Sarah told me when we were on our way to Mexico that she had not yet gotten her senior portraits done... that's all I needed to hear! :) I gave her a card and told her that we would have to set something up this Spring!

Well, Spring has sprung (in a Seattle sort-a-way) and it was time for some pictures!!! We had a little bit of a scare the morning of, since it was doing well, what Seattle does best, RAIN! However it cleared up and we were able to get to it! This girl is just beautiful and I am having so much fun going through each of her pictures. There are tons of awesome pic's however I will now share with you some of my favorite from her shoot.

Leaving Las Vegas | Trash the Dress

On our last day in Las Vegas, John and I took part in a workshop at the Spring Mountain Ranch, located within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This place was breathtaking to say the least! While John was there to shoot (there were many photographers and models who took part in this workshop) I had the privilege to put my wedding dress back on and model for my husband as well as some other fabulous photographers.

Here are some fun behind the scene photo's (and a couple John took)

Like I mentioned, there were lots of other photographers shooting this day and here are a few shots that I found on their blogs... of me wink wink

Jessica | Maternity Session

Jessica was in town to visit family and friends while her husband moved their stuff down to New Mexico where the couple will live for the next few months leading up to the birth of their first child. Merle, Jessica's husband is in the Air Force and was not able to make it up for this visit. However, Jessica brought a few items from Daddy to be, so that we could work them into the session. If he couldn't be there in person, hopefully these items help him to feel a little bit more connected. I just love these images!

I had such a blast with Jessica and cant wait to see this little lady when she arrives!

Seattle Shoot | Gasworks Park

Posted at 9:16 AM | 2 comments | please leave a comment
I know, your probably thinking, it's about time we get some images up from our Seattle shoot. :) John and I have just been swamped with work since returning from our latest trip to Las Vegas. We had been gone for most of the month of March on various trips and now that we are home, our work is not letting us forget just how much there is to do.

A few weeks ago John and I met up with some awesome Seattle photographers to spend the day taking pictures around Gasworks Park in Seattle. It was a beautiful day and we ended up with some just as beautiful models, men, women, children and one of my favorites a beautiful family of 4, my brother, sister in law and adorable niece and nephew.

Here are some of our favorite images from that day

My brother and his fabulous family.

My beautiful niece J'Kad

Nick and Jessica, you may remember as we did their wedding last October. Fabulous as usual!

Baby Tyler was so cute! She handled the camera like a pro. But even pros need a break! I just love the last one!

Shauna you were total rock star

Jeremy and Lisa. This fab couple is getting married this August! What a great way to search for your wedding photographer than to go to a shoot like this and personally get to work with (or interview... depending on how you look at it haha) your potential photographer. John and I were fortunate enough to get to spend some time with these guys at the shoot as well as dinner a few nights later. We are so excited that they have chosen us to shoot their wedding this Summer! Jeremy and Lisa you are both exceptional and we can't wait to be a part of your day!

Family Time | Downtown Renton

Posted at 10:36 AM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
I just love it in downtown Renton. There is just so much history here and the personality and character that these buildings have is just amazing. While walking around we came across some pictures dating back to the early 1920's and some of the buildings in the pictures were still present and occupied! To learn more about the history of Renton and to see some of the earliest pictures Renton has, click here.

What a treat it was to go and enjoy the sun (it stopped snowing yay!) with two of the most beautiful girls we know! Amy who is 16 and Mina just day's from her 11th birthday were kind enough to spend the afternoon with their dad and step-mommy (that's me lol). We parked near the old Spirit of Washington Dinner Train and began walking around finding new places every few seconds to snap some shots of the girls. We walked around for a few hours, stopping for a break at the Common Ground Cupcake and Coffee shop.

Here are some of our favorite shots of the day. Notice the old brick on some of these buildings... just awesome!

Jenna Trashes her own Dress @ the Boneyard

Posted at 12:31 PM | 6 comments | please leave a comment
Our latest trip to Vegas was an amazing whirlwind of learning, activities and fun. I'm sure Jenna plans to post much more on the trip, but I wanted to tell this little story.

For the short version, watch the slideshow

We arrived in Vegas on the 15th and previous reserved time to shoot at the Boneyard (The Neon Museum), an amazing place filled with retired signs from the Vegas strip. Our friends Steve and Larry and several models made up our crew ;-)

We had been planning the trip for a while, finding models and working out details... some time during that process Jenna got the idea she'd like to put on her own dress and be one of the models. Honestly I didn't really didn't get it or share her excitement thinking what could I do with pictures of my wife in her dress! Still she was so excited about the idea, so much so that it was contagious and eventually she had me excited as well.

The day of we had some models cancel and I decided to shoot just Jenna. Heck she was my wife, in her wedding dress and she was beautiful... add the amazing signs and backdrops and WOW I was inspired. 2 1/2 hours and 1000 pictures later, I had taken some of my favorite pictures ever. See for yourself!!!

Jenna and I actually learned a ton from this shoot, she now has more of the experience from in-front of the camera... this just makes working with our couples better by understanding the experience. And just in case you're interested is a TTD (trash the dress session) Jenna can tell you all about it and how much fun it can be!

Oh yeah, I loved these photos so much... they are up on my wall in my studio!

Rowe Family Portraits

I first met Tasha and her husband Nate back in 2003 through my wonderful sister-in-law, Misty. Now Tasha and Nate are expecting their 3rd child. Little Colten is due to arrive this weekend. Besides Mommy and Daddy, anxiously awaiting his arrival are his two big sisters Hailee (3) and Cameron (9). Before his arrival Tasha wanted to get some family pictures as well as some pictures of her belly which we did in their home last week. Here are some of my favorite images from that day.

Stay tuned... because I plan on capturing Colten's first few weeks here and you know where those pictures will be posted... here! :)

Lifestyle Photography

Posted at 10:51 PM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
Ever tried getting your little one all dressed up and then rushing them off to the toy or department store portrait studio, just to get 15 minutes of time in front of the camera? Most of the time you're lucky to walk away with a small hand full of shots of your child "posed" in front of a back drop. Sometimes it's even worse... and don't end up with any, wishing you could get back the morning or afternoon that was just wasted. It's unfortunate, but all to common.

Time... it's a very precious commodity and it always seems to go by so fast. If you have a baby or small child time becomes even more precious! Lifestyle Photography is something that is becoming more and more common with parents and families. The days where you put your child on a bench in front of a 'less than personal backdrop' and then have someone telling your child to say "cheese", are in my opinion, numbered.

Just imagine having a collage of pictures from your child's first weeks and then through their first years, that show exactly who they were, what they were doing and the development of their ever growing personalities. Photography is so much more than just being able to take a good picture. It's about being able to relate, to bond and to connect with not just your clients... but with people whom have come to trust you with their family and children.

The best way for this to happen is to trust who is taking pictures of your family, and let them get to know you. Children are smart... and they tend to be at there cutest (being themselves) when they are comfortable and in their own surroundings. Not having their schedule (or lack there of) disturbed gives all involved, the upper hand.

My goal is to talk with my parents, finding out as much as I can about their children; their likes, dislikes and their personalities, favorite past times and even their daily schedule. I think that being able to take a peek into their lives, I'll be able to produce not only a much more personalized product, but also be able to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the process.

If you would like to schedule your portrait session, please feel free to email me to make an appointment. I will only be doing a limited number of portrait sessions over the next few months leading up to our busy wedding season of 2008! :-)

Time For Portraits

Posted at 10:24 PM | 0 comments | please leave a comment
Doing portraits is something that I've had an interest in doing myself for quite some time now. During wedding season, however, it is nearly impossible for me to really get into it. As some of you may know, I've been working on getting my portrait portfolio up to date and John and I are working on getting our Perfect Image Productions website updated with all of my portraits.

John is has been working SO hard on all of the post wedding productions from our extremely busy wedding season this Summer and so we haven't had a chance to totally reconstruct our site. I am totally determined to jump right into doing more portrait sessions and I think that this is something that I will only be able to do during the few months of our off season from weddings. I've had a few new clients this Fall and would love to book some more for the coming months.

I thought it would be cool to really get myself going more in the portrait direction by offering a super deal to anyone who books me for a portrait session with in the next month or two. Now my passion in portrait photography really lies with the children, and babies (this includes maternity too!). My style isn't to just take forced pictures... but instead more natural and less "cheesy" photos. All of my sessions are done on site, which means I will either come to your home or even to your favorite park and dedicate not just 15 minutes (like you would get at the department store studio's) but a good portion of my day to ensure that there are many great pictures where you or your child are in their own surroundings and feels most comfortable.

My portrait sessions are just $50 for the sitting fee and is a flat fee. No extra costs for multiple children or family members and that includes not only my travel and time with you that afternoon, but it also includes unlimited number of digital photo's taken during our session. I'll choose the best of the best from all of your photo's (can be anywhere from 20-60 images) and I will hand edit each one of your pictures and within a couple of weeks, post them all on Pictage for you to share, proof and order any individual "studio" prints you like and the pictures stay up on Pictage for at least 3 months so that you can order at your own pace. And if you like all of the images (trust me... it's tough not too love these unique pictures your little ones) you can purchase all of the edited pictures on a high resolution CD for you to print at your leisure. It's so much more affordable than even getting in on a good deal at the department stores...because you can OWN (ownership is limited) each and everyone of your pictures.

You can check out some of my work on our blog and if you would like to talk more about scheduling an appointment (my schedule is very flexible and can do weekday afternoons) please feel free to email me at jenna@perfectimageproductions.com. And don't forget to keep checking out our Blog for all our recent weddings and portrait sessions!
