Will & Alison's Wedding | 10.10.09
From the first time we met Will & Alison, we were excited at the opportunity to work with these two! What a dynamic couple! Two of my favorite things about Alison, are her beautiful & sincere heart and the the other... she gets these amazing expressions on her face that can make just about anyone smile! Will, he's quite at first but one of his best traits, I've learned, is just how much he adores Alison! Their love for one another makes John and I remember why we do what we do. We just couldn't be happier for them both.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alison works for the fire department and Will, lets just call him "Officer Will", proudly part of the Bellevue Police Force. The fire department, where Alison works, was nice enough to let us use some of these great props. And a friend of Will's dropped by to lend us a prop too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Both of these two come with an amazing group of family and friends. The toasts were touching and we just felt privileged to be a part of such an amazing day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alison & Will, thank you for sharing such a special day in your lives, with us. Nina & Paul's Wedding | 10.3.09
| While I (Jenna) didn't have a little sister of my own growing up, from the time I was about 12 or so, there was Nina. She is the little sister to my best friend growing up. Now, all grown up and beautiful as ever, John & I had the privilege of capturing her special day. After years of dating, Paul finally popped the question last year about this time. A years worth of planning, finally her wedding day was here. Everything that she'd spent time on, making each detail just so, was about to come together. Nina's sister (one of my dearest friends) Barbi, flew over from Ohio to be a part of her little sister and best friends, day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined by both of their family and friends Nina and Paul exchanged vows. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank goodness the weather report was wrong. It was a beautiful drive up to A Country Location in Arlington, WA. Ashlee & Drew | Wedding
This was a very special wedding for John & I. Pastor Greg, better known to this beautiful bride as "Dad", married John and I just over 3 years ago. It was such a blessing to be asked to be part of and to capture his daughters big day.![]() ![]() ![]() Ashlee & Drew are such a vibrant and outgoing couple. We had a great time with them down at Gene Coulon Park during their pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() Usually waiting for a bride at the end of the isle, Greg was now walking his very own little girl to a man he would soon call son. What an awesome feeling it must be to know that you're giving your daughter to a man who is deserving of your precious daughter. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations to you Ashlee & Drew on your marriage! Nicole & Stuart | Wedding
| I guess I'd have to say it's rare that we meet a couple for the first time on their wedding day, yet walking into Nicole's suite at Willows Lodge it's like we had just walked into a room of a friend we'd known for years! Even though we'd never met face to face, big hugs were exchanged and it truly felt like we'd known each other for a very long time. We just LOVE having these kinds of bonds with our couples. :) We hung out for a couple of hours with Nicole, her sister (aka-MOH) and close friends while they got ready. It was nice to have that time with her since this was technically our first meeting. John and I find ourselves meeting some of the most amazing people and Nicole, Stuart & family were no exception. ![]() ![]() ![]() We heard though the grapvine that Stuart, like most guys, wasn't "thrilled" being on the lens end of the camera, but the fact is he was awesome. Maybe it was because his focus was now on his stunning bride, maybe becuase we were in fact at a winery. Either way, it looked as if he'd been doing this all his life. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ceremony & reception were held at the Novelty Hill/Januik Winery. A beautiful and romantic contemporary atmosphere, just perfect for these two. A variation of the winery's beautiful wines were tasted during cocktail hour and with many out of town guests there was lots to talk about. Stuart & Nicole take the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife and the rest of the evening was spent enjoying the company of their guests and each other. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nicole & Stuart it was pure pleasure spending the day with you both! Pendora & Will | Wedding
A long history between the two, Pendora & Will exchanged vows that included unconditional love to each other and to their two beautiful daughters.![]() ![]() ![]() Pendora said that she had always envisioned getting married at the Lakewold Gardens. Beautiful plush green lawns, romantic little trails that lead to enchanting gardens, this place was beautiful. Unable to book this venue for her wedding she did the next best thing. She arranged it so that we could intertwine the beauty of this place with the two of them and the love they share. Will first lay his eyes on his bride and we could just see the connection. The rest of their pictures were taken here and putting the two elements together, here is what we came up with. :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() During the ceremony, the sun was shinning and the wind was blowing. So what do you do when the wind starts to blow your veil this way and that? That is what a good maid of honor is there for! ![]() They exchanged promises with an audience of close friends and family. Many who came from afar. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dances were shared and many lasting memories were made. Pendora & Will, it was such a Joy to be a part of your day! Mike & Devinne | July 25, 2009
| I have spent almost a year getting to know this bride & her awesome family in a way that I don't usually have the pleasure of doing. When we first met with Mike & Devinne late last Summer, they were expecting their 2nd child. It was maybe a month after we'd met that I had gone to take pictures of their adorable son, Dylan who was celebrating his first birthday. A couple months later I was back capturing her pregnancy and the following week I was at the hospital with Devinne, Mike & Dorris (Devinne's mom) as she went through her labor and delivery. The newest member of the family, Alana was born! To be a part of such a personal, intimate and emotional time, this family holds a very special place in my heart. Fast forward many months and their wedding day is now upon us. We walked in as Devinne & her maids were getting ready. The mood was light and fun. A day that Devinne has been looking forward to for so long is finally here! The kids had to get ready for the big day too. Dylan getting his hair cut was entertaining and adorable... for those of us watching. NOT for Dylan. :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking over the golf course, John sets up Mike for his first look at his bride to be. I remember the look on Mike's face when he turned around and saw her for the first time that day... the look on his face could have read, "the mother of my children, today, finally becomes my wife!" Yeah, I could have had a tear in my eye. ;) ![]() ![]() ![]() Her daddy walks her down the isle, giving her hand to the man she'll spend the rest of her life with. I can see the tears forming in her eyes which is replaced with a huge smile as she is handed off to her husband to be. ![]() ![]() ![]() After a quick wardrobe change, Devinne looked stunning as she and her husband walked into this room full of family and friends, introduced for the first time as Mr. & Mrs. Kynaston. ![]() Lots of dancing, chatter and laughter filled the evening. Memories were made and the rest of their lives had finally begun. Congratulations Mike & Devinne on your beautiful marriage and your priceless family! Rob & Esther | July 24, 2009
Walking into the bridal suite we found Esther and her maids were getting ready for the big day ahead. We exchanged hugs... I hadn't seen her since their engagement session last year. It was so great to see the smile on her well deserving face. The room was filled with her dearest friends, mother and now me. Standing in a room full of people who have created bonds that took years, it was great to capture these moments that will forever be etched in her mind as the moments before she became Mrs. Limjoco.![]() ![]() ![]() We met Rob at the winding staircase in the Woodmark. Seeing the love, excitement and anticipation that’s been building to this moment is to be blunt why John and I do this. Watching Rob turn to see his beautiful bride to be was so heartwarming, did I mention we love this couple! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As I watched her mother & father walk her down the isle, I could see just how much love & joy was flowing through her. Their beautiful traditional Filipino/Catholic wedding came to conclusion and the rest of the evening… no, the rest of their lives began. ![]() ![]() They were greeted by all of their guests waiting on the dock as they arrived via the Woodmark II, a beautiful 28’ Chris-Craft. The evening unfolded in perfect harmony. Both John and I had moments with tears in our eyes. The toasts were personal and touching and the first dances were exactly what they should have been. A memorable time of reflection and joy for what the future has to bring. ![]() ![]() ![]() It was so hard to leave this wonderful party. If it wasn't for our beautiful, brand-new baby girl Ellie, waiting for me at home, I'm sure John and I would have been there closing the place down right along with our amazing bride & groom. ![]() ![]() ![]() I can say that this couple along with the family & company they shared are a perfect example of what keeps John and I doing what we do. Can this really be our "job"? What a blessing it is to be surrounded by people who are celebrating their love for one another and remind us what is truly important. Congratulations to you both on your marriage. John and I are so happy to have been a part of your day and to capture each precious moment for you. Candice & Chase | July 22, 2009
| A personal and more intimate day for this Southern Belle and dapper gentleman, who traveled all the way from Texas to Brinnon, WA on the Hood Canal to share with close family, their love for one another. When John and I first met these two, it was Winter, there was still snow on the ground. A 180 from what they were used to, being from Texas and all. The freezing rain, snow and slush wasn't enough to stop them from having a great time with their engagement photo's. We had a great time with them as well and are so grateful to have had that chance to get to know them better. A mid-week ceremony at his Grandparents beautiful property on the Hood Canal was the setting for a perfect day. The weather was beautiful and the mood was relaxed. A total of just over 30 guests gathered to witness Candice & Chase's vows and celebrate a very apparent love between the two. It was a wonderful day and these two surely deserved it! I only wish that I (Jenna) could have been there to witness it myself. I was here at home taking care of my 6 week old little girl and I just couldn't leave her for the entire day, with it being more of a destination wedding. Fortunately our dear friend and fellow photographer, Steve Smith was able to attend and shoot with John. Thanks Steve so much for all of your help! Candice & Chase, I truly enjoyed getting to know you both. I wish I could have been there with you on your big day, but I know you were in very good hands with John & Steve. Congratulations and we wish you all of the best! Let us know the next time you're in Washington, we'd love to see you! Alicia & Jon's Wedding | 5.24.09
| Okay, I have to warn you that I may be a little biased when it comes to this bride, she's my cousin. :) I have to say what a privilege it was to be a part of her special day. Really, I was in the bridal party & John of course was the photographer. We share not just a typical cousin relationship but also a great friendship. She is someone I've admired for so many years. Although she's a few years younger than me, I've always looked up to her for the strength she has in her faith, her hope and the sweet, tender, giving heart she was blessed with. Alicia, is an amazing women and her new husband Jon is one lucky man! Now, that I've said all that about my sweet Alicia, I don't want you to think that he's the only lucky one in this equation. Alicia met Jon, over a year and a half ago and from the start, he's proved how much he loves, respects and adores my wonderful cousin. He is exactly what she deserves. I am so proud of my beautiful cousin for all that she's accomplished and for picking such a wonderful man to spend the rest of her life with. I am also so grateful to have gained such a wonderful guy as part of my family. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Okay... on to the details of the wedding! :) Alicia & Jon were married at their home church, Rose Hill Presbyterian in Kirkland over Memorial Weekend. Pastor Brandon and his wife Jenean have been a close part of Alicia's life for many years, starting back in Alicia's school days as her youth pastor. It was a great honor that he was able to perform their ceremony. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After the ceremony we were off to Golden Gardens Bathhouse in Seattle for their reception. You may recall the amazing weather we had Memorial Weekend, so it wasn't much of a surprise just how busy this beautiful Seattle park was. Parking was a nightmare for guests but once everyone arrived and settled in, the rest of the afternoon and evening went off with out a hitch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a wonderful day and I am just so happy for my cousin and her new husband. Whom, by the way are currently enjoying their 3 week honeymoon that includes a cruise to Alaska & a week up in Canada at Whistler. Jon & Alicia, we are just thrilled for the both of you and can't wait to hear all about how amazing your honeymoon was! UPDATE: Wow, where did the time go! It's taken me a little while to get back up and going again since Ellie arrived... Jon and Alicia stopped by the visit the other day, the smiles on their faces are as bright as ever! ![]() If you would like to view pictures from Jon & Alicia's wedding as they become available, please click here to sign their guest book. Josh & Nichole's Wedding | 5.9.09
Josh & Nichole have been nothing but terrific since the first day we met. Easygoing, accommodating and sincere to the core is how I'd describe these two.![]() ![]() ![]() They've spent years together as a couple and finally, now are the happy married couple they've always been meant to be. Saturday May 9th is more than just the day these two were married. It was they day they celebrated their love and commitment to one another and a way to share it with their family and friends. Some may call their ceremony simple. And some may call their reception low key. What we'd have to call there ceremony is heartfelt, funny & most of all, totally Josh & Nichole. Seriously, their vows consisted of a reading, Dr. Seuss style. :) ![]() ![]() Their reception... well lets just say that it wasn't necessarily a typical reception. The most important thing for these two was for everyone to have a great time and to share with them this special milestone in their lives. BUT... don't think for just one second that they didn't put their fun, different and corky twist on things! There were no traditional wedding cakes here. No-siree! Instead, days before, Nichole spent hours and hours baking multiple cakes. Each representing who they were as a couple. How did they taste? AMAZING comes to mind! :) ![]() ![]() Who says you need champagne to toast? Not these two. How about Jello shots! A little tricky to get out of the glasses, they were still a big hint with guests. ![]() ![]() Open bar anyone!?!? How about a bar full of almost any rum & all of the mixers you could need. To top it off... lets just go ahead and make these drinks in buckets! ![]() Josh & Nichole, you were such a pleasure to work with. John and I are just so glad to have had the opportunity to get to know you both. ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |
John & Jennifer | 5.2.09
| We first met with John & Jennifer back in 2007. This last weekend they tied the knot and shared their special event with about 200 of their closest friends and family. If you remembered the crazy weather we had this past weekend, you'd remember that for the first part of Saturday it was Sunny & nice and then all of the sudden, just like Seattle, it began to rain like crazy. Thank goodness we were able to get some pictures outside before the monsoon came rolling in. The bridal party was full of energy & we got some great impromptu shots of them and all of their energy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations John & Jennifer! Sally & Chris | 4.25.09
| I have to say that this wedding was one of the most intimate we've done, to date. Sally & Chris were married at the Canlis in Seattle. Joining them in their celebration, were about 20 of their closest family and friends, many who had flown in from out of town. I met up with Sally and her cousin, at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Seattle where she was getting ready while John headed to the Canlis. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Chris & Sally, saw one another for the first time that day, at the alter. I know Chris had to have been blown away at the sight of his beautiful bride. The ceremony was performed by Greg Holman, who also married John and I almost 3 years ago. The ceremony was very meaningful, honest and endearing. ![]() ![]() ![]() While their guests enjoyed cocktails & hors d'oeuvres, we took our fabulous couple to Kerry Park for some pictures of them enjoying one another, against the beautiful Seattle Skyline. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rest of the evening was spent, much like a family reunion. As family and close friends went around the table sharing memories and advice for the newly married couple, it was impossible to miss just how close and loving this family was. It really was awesome to watch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Chris & Sally who are spending their honeymoon, as I type, in Jamaica were so wonderful to work with. From the moment we first met to sharing their intimate day, we knew that these two were very special. Thank you so much for the privilege and the honor of capturing your day. Eric & Jessica | 4.18.09
| Eric & Jessica are one of our fabulous couples from a string of referrals that started back in 2006 with the fabulous Jamie & Ryan. I've said it before and I'll say it again, WE LOVE OUR REFERRALS!!! Of course the business is awesome but SO much more than that is the history that comes with each one. Last year we shot John & Suzanne's wedding at the Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham and from this awesome couple we were paired up with Eric & Jessica. We started off at Willow's Lodge in Woodinville where the bridal party was getting ready. John arrived a tad bit earlier than I did (this pregnant lady doesn't move as fast as she used to, lol) and was already in the swing of things when I walked into Jessica's room. As I turned the corner, I caught a glimpse of Jessica and almost died. This woman, already stunning and beautiful, just lit up like a dream in her elegant soft pink gown. ![]() ![]() ![]() Now it was time for her to go meet her groom. Under the beautiful willow tree we unveiled to the groom, his stunning bride. After a few private moments we took them down a short path for a few more pictures. It was only a matter of minutes that we were on the path before Jessica noticed she was being ATTACKED by gigantic killer ants! Okay... they weren't killer ants and they were gigantic. Really there were tiny little black ants but they did seem like they were attacking/biting her poor feet. It wasn't long before we abandoned this spot. Fine by us because here are some of the shots we took after leaving that location. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once finished at Willows Lodge it was off to the Hollywood Schoolhouse just down the road. A few more bridal party pictures and portraits and it was time to surrender to the bridal suite to await the ceremony. ![]() ![]() ![]() The ceremony, which was performed by one of our favorites, Kent Buttars of A Heavenly Ceremony (voted Best Seattle Officiant in 2008-Readers' Choice and 2005 Readers' & Editors' choice in Seattle Bride Magazine) was beautiful and sentimental. I just love how they tell the story about the couple, how they met and fell in love. Makes me smile every time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The entire day was filled full of family, friends and most importantly love! With an amazing family on both sides, and an awesome group of friends, this day seemed to hit perfection! ![]() ![]() Eric & Jessica, it has been such a pleasure of ours to be a part of your special journey. Thank you for trusting us and for letting us into your lives. You've given us yet another reason to love what we do. Ending our wedding season with a bang!
| John and I have been looking forward to this wedding all year! Not only did this wonderful wedding take place in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but it was the wedding of two of our dearest friends, Chris & Tara. Follow me while I share with you some pictures and some memories from our favorite moments. We arrived on a Friday evening and got all settled into our Hotel, Melia Cabo Real. The next morning we met up with the gang for a quick rehearsal at Casa Del Mar. The plan for that evening was to go to the welcome dinner held at Poncho's right in downtown Cabo. The dinner was fabulous, including lobster tail and steak or a platter of steak, chicken and ribs. The food was to die for! The evening was amazing with the mariachi band to serenade us all and the bar was overflowing with shots of tequila! It was a great night. A few images to help paint the picture. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sunday all of the guys went out to play golf while us girls sat back and relaxed by the pool taking turns getting a massage. Ahh! John got some great shots of the guys playing golf, however as relaxed as I was, I didn't manage to pick up the camera much that day. Here are a few of the guys golfing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Monday was upon us. Tara & Chris' big day. It was so great to be there to capture our dear friends' big day. Tara looked so amazing... her beauty, beyond words. Chris, not doing so bad himself, was a dapper match to his gorgeous bride. Tara's sister and best friend Carly took on the role of Maid of Honor while Chris' best friend David proudly stood next to Chris as best man. I don't know if words can really describe how precious and stunning their ceremony was, but it too was breathtaking. Tara's Dad Larry, walked his eldest daughter down the isle (surely fighting back some tears, or not) to the man who was taking his little girl. It was one of those moments you could call bitter sweet. As everyone knows, Chris is an outstanding individual and to give his daughter to such a guy, makes this moment a little bit easier... but I'm sure not much. :) During the ceremony sister, Carly sung John Legends "I Will Stay With You" played by guitarist and good friend Lee. Lets just say that John and I weren't the only ones on that beach with tears rushing down our cheek. :) All of the guests were lead to the cocktail hour by a Mexican Trio band. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We just had to take these guys to the beach for some sunset pictures, I mean, hello! We were in Mexico! Check these out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The reception as also held on the beach and let me tell ya, it was one heck of a party! Usually when shooting a wedding, John and I have a great time, but it's all behind the camera. This wedding was a little different. :) Although John is the one who captured the majority of the reception pictures, he still found time to have a great time with our wonderful friends. It was so great to see such a large # of family and friends, travel all the way to Mexico to share in such a monumental event. ![]() ![]() Chris & Tara, you are loved and adored by many! Thank you both so very much for not only allowing us to capture your day, but to be a part of your lives. We truly do cherish you friendship. A million congratulations to you both. Congratulations Jeremy & Tess!
| Jeremy & Tess were married this past Saturday at the Blaine Memorial United Methodist Church in Seattle. It was over a year ago that we first met with the couple and we were reminded rather quickly at just what a fantastic couple these two were! Once ready we were off to Kubota Gardens for the unveiling and some pictures! Once again we were showered with... no not rain, but the lovely Autumn sun! It was great! This was our first trip to the gardens and it's not likely to be our last. Beautiful and peaceful is the best way to describe it. John and I had a wonderful time. Defiantly one of our favorite weddings of the year! Genuine and sweet couple, great families and just a wonderful time! Thanks Jeremy & Tess for allowing us to capture your day! Congratulations Lewis & Kelsey
| Time and time again we keep getting these AMAZING couples! We got the chance to see a little of their awesomeness back in June for their engagement session, but to spend an entire day with them was the best! Their traditional ceremony was held at St. Louis Parish in Bellevue. This was our second wedding there and we just love it! The sun was coming through the stained glass windows just ever so perfectly giving off the most romantic light. Loved it! We then took off to Woodinville to one of our favorite locations, Hollywood Schoolhouse. Before entering the reception we took a few moments to capture a few more fun bridal party pictures and of course a few with the newly married couple. It was just so much fun to watch these two. The feelings they held for one another was visible to the naked eye. I love love! :) The entire evening was perfect. The focus of it all was where it should be, on Lewis and Kelsey. Congratulations Richard & Samantha | 9.7.08
| Richard & Sam were married last weekend at Magnolia Hall in Arlington, WA. Just being in their presence, you could just tell how much they loved each other. So many emotional and sweet things brought tears to our eyes; Samantha singing to Richard at the alter, Sam's sisters funny stories as she married them, their first dance, and the great little notes everyone wrote for the couple during the reception. Family was important to both the bride and the groom and on both sides they were great! Richard had family that flew in from Brazil just to witness the marriage of the two. John and I really enjoy being a part of days like this... it's awesome to see love and support, fun and laughter from everywhere. Jeremy & Lisa's Wedding
| What can I say? We just keep getting blessed with these amazing couples! We met these two back in March during a group photo shoot. We must have done something right because it was only a couple of weeks later they booked us to shoot their wedding... and boy am I glad that we got to be a part of their day! Jeremy & Lisa have had a relationship that's been tested through distance and there's no doubt in my mind that these two are the real deal. Both such outgoing and kind people who really seem to know the importance of family, friends and love. This was a day that would bring a tear (of joy) to any eye, a smile to any face and leave you with a warm feeling that just lingers. Here are (just) a few of our favorite pictures and some with a little description of what was taking place. :) Jeremy's gift to Lisa. A beautiful strand of pearls... that came in the "blue" box. :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is Abby. Part of the family and just about the sweetest doggy you could meet. ![]() ![]() Down at Pikes Place for some pictures, Lisa took us to the gum wall and they just couldn't resist adding to the ever growing collection. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This reception had all the goodies. We are talking sliders to a mashed potato bar OH YUM!) to signature cocktails (lavender martini's and mmm-anhattan's), even chocolate fondue fountain. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The toasts were very touching... Jeremy had a little special toast for Lisa where he presented her with some gifts. A bottle of wine, only to be opened at each milestone anniversary. 1 year, 5 year and 10 year. Each bottle of wine Jeremy picked out so that it would be at it's peak, during the year of each anniversary. ![]() ![]() John and I had such a fabulous time and are just amazed at the amazing people we meet. It's weddings like this that I leave asking myself, "how did we get so lucky to end up with a "job" like this?" I guess that's the whole point... we love what we do and it's because of the people we meet that we know we'll be doing this for a very very long time. Thank you Jeremy & Lisa for letting us take part in your special day. Congratulations to you both! Kurt & Sam's wedding
| Kurt and Sam were married this past Sunday at the Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell, WA. The ceremony which was to take place out side in the beautiful gardens was moved inside due to our wonderful Seattle weather. But that didn't put a damper on Sam's mood, that's for sure. I absolutely adore this woman! So easy going and the only thing that seemed to be on her mind, was marrying her sweetie Kurt. It was awesome getting to be a part of these guys' wedding and special day. Kurt and Sam are just such loving, funny and easy going as they come with family and friends to match. Congratulations to you both on your marriage. Congratulations Steve & Kate
| What an amazing couple, Steve & Kate. We first met up with them back in May for their engagement session and the lovely couple was married this past weekend in Seattle at the beautiful Mt. Baker Presbyterian Church. If you recall, the temperatures for Saturday reached into the 90's and boy was it hot! Kate and her bridesmaids had it nice. We were in the basement while getting ready and it was about 20 degrees cooler down there then in the rest of the church. The poor guys however, were up on the 3rd floor (did I mention that there isn't any air conditioning? lol) and as story has it (John had the pleasure of shooting the guys up on that 3rd floor) they were playing connect 4 to determine who had to put their tux on first. :) Before you know it, it was time for the ceremony which was beautiful. The reception was held at the Harbor Club in Downtown Seattle. What an amazing place that is anyways, but if you've ever been there, the views are to die for and the sunset on Saturday was absolutely stunning. You could see the stadiums from up there and some of the guests even took the opportunity to sneak a peek at the ongoing game down below. Steve & Kate, who both graduated from University of Washington, were welcomed as husband and wife with the accompaniment of the UW's Marching Band! This was so cool to watch and definitely a first for John and I. The whole day was perfect and we sure enjoyed spending time with these guys! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks Steve & Kate for allowing us to take part in your day. Hunter & Elisa | 8.8.08
| Hunter and Elisa were married last Friday at her parents beautiful home in Redmond, WA. We first met these guys last year prior to mutual friends' wedding. In fact it's a story that we still like to tell... Hunter and Elisa were referred to us by Ben & Gretchen Levy . We had our meeting with Hunter & Elisa prior to the wedding and it was during their wedding that they booked us! I guess after watching us "in action" they just couldn't resist. :) Over the past year or so we have had the pleasure of getting to know and finding out just how amazing these two are. Individually and as a couple. It was such a pleasure to be a part of this special occasion and we look forward to an ever growing and lasting friendship with them both! Eric & Callie Get Married!
| We enjoyed so much, getting to know Eric and Callie during their engagement session last Fall. We had the pleasure of meeting back up with them at Yangs Botanical Garden in Port Orchard, WA where their ceremony and reception was held. The grounds at Yangs set such a beautiful backdrop for this special occasion and was also a wonderful place for pictures. Eric and Callie had a Hawaiian Luau themed dinner complete with roasted pig, YUM! Here are a few of our favorite pictures from their day. John & Suzanne | Destination Bellingham
| A weekend getaway-$0. A beautiful Bellingham day-$0. Becoming one as husband and wife... Priceless! John and Suzanne were married at the Hotel Bellwether in Bellingham, WA on Saturday afternoon. Family and friends filled the hotel this past weekend to join in on the celebration of these two University of Washington Graduates. John and I arrived on Friday afternoon just in time to catch the run through of the rehearsal and to mingle a bit with guests. It's always a breath of fresh air to meet family and friends who are such a beautiful reflection of one of our couples. In just a short weekend I was able to witness the love and admiration towards John and Suz from their family and friends. I caught father of the bride Gary, praying with Suzanne just before he walked his only daughter down the isle. I admit that had to wipe away a tear from my eye before continuing. The ceremony which was held outside overlooking the water, was beautiful, meaningful and picture prefect. Good friend of the couple Matt, sang "I cross My Heart" by George Straight to the couple at the alter. At first, not a dry eye in the house. Then, laughter as the groomsmen (do to some inside joke I believe) began laughing which instantly because contagious to all around. After the ceremony the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Hart were whisked away to spend a few moments alone in their bridal condo, otherwise known as the Lighthouse Suite, but not before we were able to snap a few more pictures. The reception went on well past midnight with practically every foot on the dance floor! I couldn't believe the energy of everyone there. It was contagious as I found myself from time to time shakin' a little bit to the music. :) As the night wrapped up we said our good bye's to the happy couple and retired to our own room to unwind from a wonderful day. Thanks so much to John & Suz and to all of your wonderful family and friends who welcomed us to share such a special occasion. Amy & Lucas Get Married
| It doesn't get better than this... We really couldn't have asked for a sweeter Bride and Groom. Amy & Lucas were married this past Saturday at the Prince of Peace, Lutheran Church in Seatac. John and I have known Amy & Lucas for a couple of years now and it was such a great experience to witness these two amazing people join their lives together before God, family & friends. There was a bunch of emotion but even more love that filled this church on Saturday. Amy & Lucas are such an easy going couple and I am just thrilled at how their love radiates through these pictures. Here are just a few of our favorites. Oscar & Nerelys | 06.07.08
| Thanks to the wonderful and multi-talented Wendi Hroncich of Ethereal Events LLC John and I were able to meet Oscar and Nerelys. Wendi has been working with this couple since September of last year and every detail from the rose petals that so delicately lined the isle of the church, to the mariachi band playing at the reception, was absolutely perfect! When I first met the lovely couple, I knew that we were going to have a great time working together. Nerelys, so full of life and excitement & Oscar with love for his bride to be, that lit up his face. We knew right away that this couple was a perfect fit for us. :) The morning of, John heads out to West Seattle to hang out with the guys while I meet up with Nerelys at her mothers home in Renton. Both bride and groom had family traveling for their wedding including many family members who came all the way from Mexico. All of the months of planning and preparation had finally paid off. The ceremony went off with out a hitch and was beautifully done. Parts of the ceremony were even spoken in Spanish, which made it all the more romantic. The rain had been holding off all morning so after the ceremony we were off to the Kirkland waterfront for some more pictures. We were greeted at Tibbetts Creek Manor by a mariachi band and all of their guests. The afternoon turned into evening with everyone celebrating, Oh, and lots of dancing. One of my favorite parts in fact, watching everyone dance the salsa & meringue! A talent I’ve always wanted to perfect myself. There wasn’t a dull moment all evening. Oscar and Nerelys, thank you so much for choosing us to be a part of your day. I say it must have been fate (or Wendi lol) that brought us together. Either way, it was such a joy getting to know you both. All our blessings and best wishes to you both. Jenny & Logan's Wedding
| What an awesome couple Jenny & Logan are! We met up with these guys back in February to shoot their engagement session and we just couldn't wait to be a part of their wedding. We started out at Downtown's Alexis Hotel where both the bride and groom were getting ready. When I first walked into the brides suite... I was greeted by the stunning bride herself. She looked like a princess and she hadn't even gotten dressed yet! :) While I hung out with the bride, John went over to check on the groom. What he found was Logan and all of his groomsmen playing... Guitar Hero! :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some pictures at the UW campus and then off to the church! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was actually our first reception at the Lake Union Cafe . Shari & Kyle | Wedding
| You may remember Shari and Kyle from their engagement session that we covered back in January in Seattle. John and I had the pleasure of capturing their wedding last week at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Renton. The reception was held at the Meridian Valley Country Club and was just beautiful. Here are some of our favorite images from their special day. Shari, the modest sweetie she is, I don’t think had a clue of just how beautiful she looked. But as you can see... these pictures speak for themselves! Congratulations Shari and Kyle! John and I are honored to have shared in your day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |
Jenna Trashes her own Dress @ the Boneyard
| Our latest trip to Vegas was an amazing whirlwind of learning, activities and fun. I'm sure Jenna plans to post much more on the trip, but I wanted to tell this little story. For the short version, watch the slideshow We arrived in Vegas on the 15th and previous reserved time to shoot at the Boneyard (The Neon Museum), an amazing place filled with retired signs from the Vegas strip. Our friends Steve and Larry and several models made up our crew ;-) We had been planning the trip for a while, finding models and working out details... some time during that process Jenna got the idea she'd like to put on her own dress and be one of the models. Honestly I didn't really didn't get it or share her excitement thinking what could I do with pictures of my wife in her dress! Still she was so excited about the idea, so much so that it was contagious and eventually she had me excited as well. The day of we had some models cancel and I decided to shoot just Jenna. Heck she was my wife, in her wedding dress and she was beautiful... add the amazing signs and backdrops and WOW I was inspired. 2 1/2 hours and 1000 pictures later, I had taken some of my favorite pictures ever. See for yourself!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jenna and I actually learned a ton from this shoot, she now has more of the experience from in-front of the camera... this just makes working with our couples better by understanding the experience. And just in case you're interested is a TTD (trash the dress session) Jenna can tell you all about it and how much fun it can be! Oh yeah, I loved these photos so much... they are up on my wall in my studio! Labels: About John and Jenna, Portraits, Recent weddings |
Let It Snow! Silvy & Ronalds Wedding | NewCastle Golf Course
| Waking up Sunday morning, John and I were just excited that it wasn't raining! Although Silvy and Ronald's plan included an indoor tent ceremony and reception, it would have been a sin not to have pictures outside due to rain, at such an amazing venue! Silvy and Ronald have been planing their December wedding from Southern California. The location they chose for their wedding and reception was the Newcastle Golf Course in Newcastle Washington. This venue is known for it's beautiful location and amazing views. Did I almost forget to mention the stunning sunsets? Well, although we did not reap the benefits of an unforgettable sunset (the sun was stuck behind clouds all day) we did get something else... SNOW! That's right, while Silvy and her 8 bridesmaids were getting ready, it began to snow! It kept up for about an hour or two and it snowed just enough to cover the entire golf course with a blanket of white! I believe it continued to snow during Silvy and Ronald's unveiling however it stopped soon after. In fact... not only did it stop, but the sky cleared up just enough to give us back our view of Lake Washington and even Downtown Seattle! God sure gave this Southern California couple a taste of the Great Pacific Northwest. Like Silvy and Ronald, many guests, close family and friends, traveled from all over to witness and share this beautiful occasion. Definitely one of our favorite couples and weddings. We've had such a great time working with them both during their engagement session this past week in Seattle, as well as on their wedding day! They're now off in Hawaii enjoying weather more like what they are used to... warm! John and I wish you, Silvy and Ronald all of the best in the world! May God continue to bless you both this holiday season and always! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |
Ben & Jen's wedding November 3, 2007
| John and I first met up with Benjamin and Jen a year ago at one of Seattle's funkiest coffee & wine bars Motore Coffee. We must have sat for hours chatting about their upcoming wedding. This past Saturday...the day they had been waiting for, was finally upon them! Jen and Benjamin were married in Seattle at the Mt. Baker Park Presbyterian Church. A traditional Lutheran ceremony (yes, in a Presbyterian church lol) was performed by a close friend of the couples, whom delivered an amazing ceremony! After the ceremony and a few pictures in the park, the bridal party was off (on foot, since the reception was being held just a few blocs away) to their reception at the Mount Baker Community Club. Cute cupcake towers took their place as the centerpiece of each table (which were to die for!) and the room twinkled with candle light. Everyone had such a wonderful time... including John and I. Congratulations to you Benjamin and Jen on your wedding! We wish you both all the best in the world! Nick & Jessica's Wedding 10.5.2007
| John and I spend some time with Nick and Jessica this past Summer during their engagement session. Thinking back I remember hearing Nick had a tendency to be a bit shy... camera shy that is. Not only did that not stand in our way, we ended up having a great shoot... and they ended up with some awesome pictures as a result! We couldn't wait to shoot these two again and were truly looking forward to witnessing these two amazing people enter into marriage. From our first meeting, we could see the connection and electricity between the two. Nick and Jessica have a really sweet story on how they met actually (about 4 years ago they met while both attending Bellevue Community College). They've been engaged since April of this year and had their wedding this past Friday, at the Hollywood School House in Woodinville, Wa. It was without a doubt an outstanding day! We're so happy for Nick and Jessica and hope that they are enjoying their honeymoon in Mexico (they are staying at El Dorado Royale, the same place John and I honeymooned). We're excited for them to see some of their pictures (just picking a couple was really tough) and I'm sure one of the first things Jessica does upon her return will be to check some of them out on our blog. :) Congratulations Nick and Jessica! We wish you both all the best in the world! Thanks so much for working your day around our availability, letting us into your lives and letting us capture such a monumental day for you. It was perfect for their first day of Fall wedding. Especially since it was outdoors. :) Michelle and Andy shared their vows with their friends and family in the beautiful back yard of her twin brothers home in Snoqualmie. Tamisa and Albert were married this past Saturday at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma, Wa. John and I had a great time with this East Coast couple and are so glad that they decided to have their wedding back here at home. Tamisa and Albert exchanged/renewed their vows almost 5 years after being married. This time it was witnessed by nearly 100 of their closest friends and family. Jeff and Mandy Chan's wedding 9.1.2007
| Jeff & Mandy were married this past Saturday at McChord AFB. The ceremony was held outside and they were blessed with a beautiful Summer day. John and I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jeff and Mandy, and their little one, Mikaela over the past few months. We attended Mikaela's first birthday party back in May, then it was time for their engagement session which we did at Alki Beach in Seattle. John and I had definitely been looking forward to their wedding and we really had such a blast shooting and documenting their day! Everything went smoothly and by the end of the night, the look of love, happiness and even exhaustion were apparent on many faces. Mandy, Jeff and Mikaela, It was such a pleasure getting to know you all. We are looking forward to getting together with you in a couple of months to give you the rest of your pictures. Until then...here are a few to tide you guys over! Hope you enjoy! Congratulations to you both. May God continue to bless your adorable family! Gabe & Aimee Litras Wedding
| Gabe and Aimee were married this last Friday at the Pioneer Park Pavillion in Puyallup, Wa. It was an amazing day, the weather outside was sunny but hot enough to melt a bride in her dress and everyone was excited to be part of their day! We had a lot of fun with this couple and their party. Aimee and Gabe, whom have been together for 4 years, share some great friends. I think that most of the entire bridal party had known and been friends with each other for years, which made for an even better group! The ceremony may have set a record for being short and sweet... just about 5 minutes, this left lots of time for the party which continued for hours. :) Congratulations to you both, Mr. and Mrs. Litras!!! John and I sought out Katie once we arrived on location and had the pleasure of spending some time with her and her bridal party. The ceremony was great...K atie came down in the glass elevator to meet her groom in the atrium of the hotel. I met up with Jennifer and one of her bridesmaids, Gina at Bare Essentials in Nordstroms at the South Center Mall in Tukwilla. Here Jennifer was transformed into the princess bride she's always dreamed of becoming. :) She and her Maids had spent all morning in preparation for her big day starting from the feet up! I'm getting exhausted just thinking about it! Once the prepping was complete, Jennifer was off to meet her groom to be married. The ceremony and reception went off with out a hitch and now Jennifer and Brandon are off in Jamaica having the time off their lives. Randy and Sadie Hegland Wedding
| John and I spent a bunch of time in Snohomish, Wa this weekend :) Saturday we had the pleasure of shooting Randy and Sadie's wedding at the historic Belle Chapel. This chapel has been around since 1885 and has seen thousands of weddings. We first met Randy and Sadie back in June and just loved their personalities from the get go! We were very excited to shoot their wedding and now that it's all said and done, we're so glad that we had the opportunity to get to know this amazing couple a little better. Once the happy couple returns from the honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas they'll have one day to pack up and then are gone for 5 years. They are moving to Indiana for Sadie to attend grad school. So you see, this wedding was more than just a celebration of the love and passion that these two have, but also a special time to be spent with family and friends that will be staying behind. After the ceremony, we were taking pictures and kept noticing the undeniable glow of the bride. Sadie just looked like she was on cloud 9 the entire day, for good reason. Thank you Randy and Sadie for letting us be a part of your special day. We really were a great fit! :-) We wish you all the best. Eric & Katie Focht Wedding
| John and I had the pleasure of shooting Eric and Katie's wedding this past Friday at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, Wa. The venue was amazing! Katie and her bridesmaids got ready at the beautiful Victorian house just down the street. When it was time, Katie was escorted to the ceremony in style... sitting on top of a Mustang convertible driven by her mother Kathi. The ceremony was very sweet. Brody, Katie's three year old son, proudly held the title of ring bearer. The butterfly release captivated the attention of everyone, young and old alike. During the reception John and I were able to capture some shots outside just as the sun was going down and the moon on it's way up. We caught some great pictures of the bride and groom against the gorgeous sky... otherwise known (by photographers) as sweet light. John and I had a great time getting to know everyone. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!!! If there was just one word I could use to describe Ryan and Jamie's wedding that would be it. :-)![]() This lovely couple was married this past Saturday in Issaquah, WA. Nick's parents, Todd and Nancy gladly and graciously offered to host the wedding of their oldest son and new daughter in law Jamie at their home and garden. Ben & Gretchen get MARRIED (finally)!!!!
| Our dear friends Ben and Gretchen (now) Levy tied the knot this past Saturday at Echo Falls Country Club in Snohomish, Wa. John and I have really enjoyed getting to know these two as a couple over the past year or so. In fact I first met Gretchen Back in December 2005 when we both started orientation at the same company. It wasn't until a few months later that we ran into each other in the cafeteria and noticed each others engagement rings which got us talking about weddings... you know from there it was pretty much history! :-) Ben and Gretchen have been together since high school and have shared so many great memories and good times together. Unfortunately they have also had their share of hard times... of course holding one another's hand and lifting each other up during them, creating an even tighter bond. It was such a pleasure being part of their day, and it's a continued joy knowing that we'll share a friendship with these two in the years to come! I attended Gretchen's bachelorette party last Thursday and took lots of pictures... I will only show you a few ;-0 wink wink. John also attended the Bachelor party with Ben, however he did not bring his camera... shocking I know! This couple not only have an amazing relationship with one another, they also share a great family and awesome set of friends! Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your special day! Congratulations to you both. We LOVE you! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |
Chris & Tricia are married!
Chris and Tricia were married on June 23rd at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn Wa. However it was not without obstacle that they made it to the alter. Just a few months ago their home caught on fire, leaving them without a place to call there own... adding to the already busy and stressful time of planning their wedding. Thankfully Tricia's mother, Vicki, unselfishly opened up her home to them both. After all was said and done, their wedding was a hit and now Mr. and Mrs. Wood are living happily as husband and wife... still (I believe) waiting for there home to be repaired. They have one another as well as a loving son, Ta'a. No doubt they'll get through this rough patch together and live wonderfully happy lives! Congratulations to you both! You'll be in our prayers ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |

Lari & Robert Johnson-May 3rd, 2007
| Another fantastic wedding, Lari & Robert Johnson were married at the Women's University Club of Seattle. Accompanying them was their family and friends. John and I had the pleasure of spending the entire day with Robert, Lari and Lari's daughter, Courtney (Lari's maid of honor). The entire day was filled with so much fun, laughter and love. I can't express enough how much of a pleasure it was to be in the presence of such love & passion. After the unveiling we were off to Freeway Park for pictures. Although at the rehearsal dinner the night before looked as though they were surely in for monsoon type of weather for their wedding, to everyone's surprise the weather ended up being perfect the entire day! No doubt a blessing/wedding gift from God! :) It is true what they say "your friends are a reflection of who you are" because Lari and Roberts friends and family, were just as amazing as the two of them. Some friends and family took on different tasks for the day such as the favors, a signature cocktail created just for Robert and Lari, by Seattle's celebrity chef, Kathy Casey (an amazing drink! See recipe & pictures below!). After a touching ceremony, it was time for cocktails! The remainder of the evening was enjoyed by all, with an amazing dinner and dancing! The Womens University Club of Seattle is absolutely amazing. Certified bridal consultant, Jeanne Beck who works for the club, was extremely accommodating not only to the Bride, Groom and guests but to John and I as well! Thanks Jeanne for making our job that much more enjoyable! Overall their staff, the food, the venue it self... absolutely STUNNING! I can't wait to do another wedding there! Thanks Robert, Lari and Courtney for allowing us into your lives! It was truly our pleasure! Maria and Rafik's Engagement Ceremony
| Yesterday John and I attended a traditional Orthodox Coptic Engagement Ceremony (a first for us both). We were just thrilled to take part in their engagement. A full on ceremony at St. Georges in Kirkland and reception to follow at Salty's on Alki for bride and groom to be, Maria and Rafik is just the beginning of what is to come for this great couple! They will be married this October in Washington D.C. and will have well over 300 guests. No doubt this will be an event of a lifetime! Prior to yesterday, John and I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting Maria or Rafik. Not only were the two of them amazing, they also had friends and family to match. Congratulations again to you Rafik and Maria! We had a great time and are grateful to have been part of your day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Engagements, Recent weddings |
Shayne and Misty's Wedding
| Today Jenna and I had the privilege of shooting Shayne and Misty's wedding! We are continually amazed and blessed how at the end of the day we feel like we've made new friends. Two words... Great Weather! Everyone packed umbrellas but the day was amazing, the wedding party headed to Gene Coulon Park to take pictures, then St. Mathews Church in Renton for the ceremony. The reception followed at Renton Technical College. Misty and Shayne are now off to Jamaica for a relaxing and well deserved honeymoon. Congratulations to you Shayne and Misty! Thanks you for allowing us into your lives. A few pictures from their beautiful day... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |

Jen & Barry Wedding, February 24th 2007
What an awesome day... to work with an amazing couple such as Jen and Barry. Their wedding was held at the Alexis Hotel in Seattle, WA with the reception to follow at the hotel's Library Bistro. Let me just say that this venue was an amazing place for a wedding. The colors and decor, rich and tasteful! The hotels staff was absolutely amazing. It truly was an amazing day for Jen and Barry as well as for friends and family. John and I feel privileged to have worked with them both. Here are a few pictures from their day. ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Recent weddings |
Cory & Missy December 31st, 2006
![]() ![]() ![]() What an awesome experience it was to photograph Cory and Missy's wedding. They took their vows in the chapel at Crystal Mountain...and get this, prior to taking their vows Cory and Missy ran a few runs first...OH YES! Tux, Dress and all! John couldn't miss this opportunity so he hopped up on the lift (no ski's...just boots) to get the happy couple in action! Here are a few shots from their day!
